Cousin Bill Hello, everyone. As some of you already know via our Facebook
and website announcements, our bass player, Bill Thomas, suffered a stroke
while performing at the Cherokee Casino last Thursday. Since then, he’s shown amazing strength and tenacity
in the beginning stages of his recovery, and miraculously, he’s already been
released from Washington Regional in Fayetteville, and is at home. We couldn’t be more thankful that he was
treated before things got worse. Since
this incredibly unfortunate event, Bill and his family have received an
outpouring of support from friends and fans that has been truly moving. I know that I can speak for everyone when I
say a huge “thank you” to everyone who has either donated, sent well wishes, or
helped the family during his stay at the hospital. While Bill is recovering, we are
blessed to have Reed Herron stepping in from Speakeasy,
and he has agreed to substitute on bass for the immediate future. Big Smith plans to fulfill all remaining
dates as scheduled. Thank you, Reed, and
thank you, Speakeasy. We are currently accepting donations via our website, http://www.bigsmithband.com,
which are securely handled through Paypal, so if you
would like to help Bill and his family with the extensive medical bills that
have accumulated, please consider visiting the page
and giving what you can. We will also be
collecting at future Big Smith shows, as will Mark during his solo
performances. If you would like to learn
more, or if you would like to stay updated on his recovery, please click on
this link
which will take you to the updated portion of our website concerning Bill. You can also visit our Facebook Page, which contains recovery updates and
upcoming news about benefit concerts…and speaking of benefit concerts… BENEFIT CONCERT NEXT THURSDAY A Benefit for Bill’s Bills
